Development Law 2023: Tourism & Manufacturing [Second Cycles]
The announcements of the Second Cycle of the New Development Law were published, regarding the "Strengthening Tourism Investments" Regime, which grants investment projects in the Tourism sector, and for the "Manufacturing - Supply Chain" Regime, which grants investment projects in the Manufacturing sector (except agricultural products) & the Supply Chain (logistics).
Beneficiaries of the program are Existing & newly established companies for investment projects that belong to one of the following cases:
⬣ Establishment of a new unit.
⬣ Expansion of the capacity of an existing unit.
⬣ Diversification of a unit's output into new services.
⬣ Fundamental change of the entire production process.
Applications for participation are submitted from June 12 to October 13, 2023 [Tourism Status] & from June 1, 2023 to September 29, 2023 [Manufacturing/Supply Status]. The evaluation is comparative (no order of priority) while the results of the Evaluations are expected to be immediate.
# Basic Elements of the Development Law
The program applies to all types of companies (except sole proprietorships) for a minimum investment amount as follows:
• from €100,000 and above for very small businesses.
• from €250,000 and above for small businesses.
• from €500,000 and above for medium-sized businesses.
• from €1,000,000 and above for large businesses.
Expenditures are subsidized for Building Projects, Landscaping, Mechanical/Other Equipment as well as Hotel Equipment - Furniture, etc. Intangible expenses, consultant fees/studies are also supported (eligible expenses are described here).
Small businesses receive 80% of the Support Charter when it comes to a grant, except for certain "Special Categories" where they receive 100% of the support. If a tax exemption is requested instead of a grant, then they receive 100% of the map.
Medium and large enterprises receive 80% of the Aid Charter when it comes to tax exemption, except for certain "special categories" where they receive 100% of the aid. [No aid in the form of a grant is envisaged.
